So I’ve been caught with a bug, it’s called amiibola and my life has been spiraling out of control for these damn Nintendo collectibles. I was lucky enough to snatch myself one of the rare retailer exclusive amiibo, Meta Knight. So, for your viewing pleasure I cobbled together a little unboxing video.
At Blizcon this weekend, Blizzard announced their first new IP in almost 17 years. That game is called Overwatch, a FPS that kind of looks like a fresh take on the whole Team Fortress 2 formula coming to the PC. They released this absolutely incredible cinematic trailer for the game, that honestly looks like something Pixar could have made, yes it is that good, take a look below. Nobody does cinematics like Blizzard, just amazing.
Currently they have announced 12 playable characters for the game, all with their own gameplay style and unique feel. There seems to be your classic tanks, and medics, alongside newer more exotic type characters like an archer and a samurai looking character. Battles take place in a variety of levels, and usually have some sort of team-play element besides just kill the other team. There appears to be capture and hold, some defend this area, and I am hearing there is even a Protect this thing as we move through the level type mission. They look to be trying to have a good variety in the gameplay and with the large character roster a little something for everyone. You can check out some gameplay in the trailer below.
This is pretty huge stuff, as Blizzard hasn’t made a completely new IP in a LONG time. I think Diablo was the last new IP that Blizzard had created and every game that they have made since then has either been a sequal, or a game using an existing IP; Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm etc. The fact that we are finally seeing Blizzard doing something that is not only new, but also something they have never done before; they have never made a FPS game, is very exciting. If Blizzard can give this the same kind of love and polish that we have seen from them in the past, well that is a very exciting thought. I can’t wait to get my hands on Overwatch and give it a try.
If you are as excited about this as I am, you can sign up for the closed beta coming early next year, right over here,on the Official Website.
We also have some screenshots for your viewing pleasure as well below.
No release date has been set, and no platform besides the PC has been announced as of yet.

Nintendo was nice enough to send us a copy of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U early and we’ve been busy beating each other to a pulp. Leading up to the launch we’ll be playing tons of Smash and making videos. Which modes or characters do you want to see in glorious HD. Let us know and we’ll try to get more videos and stream on Twitch before the launch on Nov. 21.

So our friends over at RPWhabam have dropped this incredible Silent Hill Fan film for Halloween. It is done very well, and even has a bit of homage to the new PT in it. If you like creepy, and/or are a fan of Silent Hill, this is a must watch. They have honestly done a fantastic job of capturing the feel and the look of the games.
Great video from these guys! Can’t wait to see what else they have in store!

Twitch CEO, Emmett Shear has confirmed that Twitch will in fact be bought by Amazon. Rumors earlier this year had Google, or Youtube actually, buying the huge video-game streaming service. But today we have confirmation that Amazon will be purchasing them.
In a an open letter, the CEO states that Twitch will remain seperate, but that now with Amazon’s resources, they aim to give us a better Twitch experience. A Copy of the letter is below
Dear Twitch Community,
It’s almost unbelievable that slightly more than 3 years ago, Twitch didn’t exist. The moment we launched, we knew we had stumbled across something special. But what followed surprised us as much as anyone else, and the impact it’s had on both the community and us has been truly profound.
Your talent, your passion, your dedication to gaming, your memes, your brilliance – these have made Twitch what it is today. Every day, we strive to live up to the standard set by you, the community. We want to create the very best place to share your gaming and life online, and that mission continues to guide us.
Together with you, we’ve found new ways of connecting developers and publishers with their fans. We’ve created a whole new kind of career that lets people make a living sharing their love of games. We’ve brought billions of hours of entertainment, laughter, joy and the occasional ragequit. I think we can all call that a pretty good start.
Today, I’m pleased to announce we’ve been acquired by Amazon. We chose Amazon because they believe in our community, they share our values and long-term vision, and they want to help us get there faster. We’re keeping most everything the same: our office, our employees, our brand, and most importantly our independence. But with Amazon’s support we’ll have the resources to bring you an even better Twitch.
I personally want to thank you, each and every member of the Twitch community, for what you’ve created. Thank you for putting your faith in us. Thank you for sticking with us through growing pains and stumbles. Thank you for bringing your very best to us and sharing it with the world. Thank you, from a group of gamers who never dreamed they’d get to help shape the face of the industry that we love so much.
It’s dangerous to go alone. On behalf of myself and everyone else at Twitch, thank you for coming with us.
Emmett Shear, CEO
I haven’t really had a chance to process this newest development, but as of right now I suppose if they leave Twitch to be twitch still and only help the service become better, then that is a great thing. Of course whenever there is a deal like this, the concern is that they will in fact mess it all up. So here is hoping that in this case, things only get better.

Gigantic is a new game being developed over at Motiga. They are selling this as “A team action game where heroes battle alongside a massive guardian in a fight for supremacy.” So while I am not entirely sure what that means, they are going to be at PAX Prime in Aug and you can be damn sure I will find out and let you all know. What I do know at this point, is that it is GORGEOUS! This has got to be one of the prettiest games I have seen recently, I absolutely love the art style. Take a look at the game in action below and enjoy the screenshots as well.
Motiga is a new studio being headed by former Starcraft and Guild Wars lead designer James Phinney. They are based out of Bellvue in Washington State, and I think that after the world gets wind of this game and the art design, they will become much better known. With a guy like that and the formidable team they have managed to wrangle together, I think Gigantic is going to be something special.
Gigantic will be heading to PC sometime in 2015, but you can head over to their website and sign up for the Alpha now, www.gogigantic.com.
