New amiibo Figures Launching in September

Nintendo is launching a variety of amiibo figures in September, including several amiibo hitting store shelves on the 11th of September.

The amiibo figures launching on the 11th of September feature many fan-favorite characters from the Super Smash Bros. series like Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf and Bowser Jr. A special Super Mario Bros. 30th series Mario amiibo modeled after Mario’s 8-bit look in the original Super Mario Bros. game will offer compatibility with the Super Mario Maker game for the Wii U console. Both the game and the amiibo figure will launch on the 11th of September.

The full list of amiibo figures launching on the 11th of September includes:

  • 30th Anniversary Mario Classic Color
  • Zero Suit Samus
  • Ganondorf
  • Olimar
  • Bowser Jr.
  • Dr. Mario
On Sept. 25, a Retro 3 Pack will launch, which includes R.O.B., Duck Hunt and Mr. Game & Watch amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series in a single package.

Further details about availability and pre-order schedules for these figures will be announced directly from various retailers in the near future. Three figures based on Mii Fighters, which were previously announced for release in September, will now launch as a 3 pack in November. More information about launch plans for the 30thAnniversary Mario Modern Color amiibo in North America will be shared in the future.

Guitar Hero Live is coming to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and select mobile devices this fall with an MSRP of $99.99. However, you may not have to wait that long to try it out. LEGO Dimensions to Merge Physical LEGO Brick Building and Games

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group today announced LEGO Dimensions, an all-new entertainment experience that breaks the rules of traditional gaming to merge physical LEGO brick building with interactive console gameplay in a manner only imaginable in the world of LEGO games.  Launching September 27, 2015, the game will fuse many fan-favorite universes together, including DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, The Wizard of Oz, LEGO Ninjago, Back to the Future, and many more still to be announced.

New Smash Series amiibo Announced

On May 29, a new set of amiibo in the Super Smash Bros. series will launch, featuring Charizard, PAC-MAN, Wario, Jigglypuff, Greninja, Robin, Lucina and Ness. July brings Dark Pit and Palutena. And in September, Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, Olimar, Dr. Mario and Bowser Jr. will join the amiibo family.

Zelda Development Update – Delayed until 2016

ZeldaEiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda, announced today that they have decided not to show it at E3 and that the focus has shifted from shipping in 2015. The full message can be seen in the video below.

Sakurai says Mewtwo DLC for Smash Bros. is releasing soon

Masahiro Sakurai, director of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, provided an updated on the upcoming Mewtwo DLC at a recent event in Japan. Thankfully, it sounds like it won’t be too much longer before the character becomes available.

Sakurai said that work on Mewtwo “is pretty much done” and the DLC will be released “pretty soon.” Fans are advised to wait for an announcement from Nintendo.

I was lucky enough to snatch myself one of the rare retailer exclusive amiibo, Meta Knight. So, for your viewing pleasure I cobbled together a little unboxing video.
