So today Razer announced that they are creating a micro-console. The new device, powered by Android TV, will stream movies, music and other apps for large-screen entertainment with an emphasis on gaming. They will also be releasing an app that users can use to navigate the console on either their Android powered smartphone or tablet. Voice control has been built right into the Android TV, so users will also be able to yell at their TV’s, here is hoping it works better here then on Kinect.
Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO said ““This is a console of the future, built on Google’s incredible Android TV platform, the Razer micro-console incorporates not only hardcore and casual gaming, but music, movies and other entertainment and social applications, all on an affordable system.”
The same team that designed the award winning Razer Blade, and Razer Blade Pro Laptops, as well as the very cool looking Project Christine concept earlier this year will be designing the Razer micro-console.
The Razer micro-console is slated to be released this fall, no word on official name or price has been given.
