Have you ever thought to yourself, “you know what would be awesome? A Dynasty Warriors game, but with Zelda”? Well, worry no more, as Nintendo has announced a new Zelda Title, being created by the team over at Tecmo Koei that is responsible for the Dynasty Warrior games, to do just that. Take a look at the trailer below.
I won’t lie to you, I am being cautiously optimistic about this one, but I kind of like the idea. No word yet on an official name for the game yet, but we will let you guys know as soon as they tell us.

VGX will abandon the traditional Hollywood style award show to feature more world premiere game trailers than ever before, plus extended deep dives into the next generation of games, new looks at gaming culture, one-on-one interviews with the industry’s most visionary creatives and expert panels digging into what’s coming to consoles in 2014 and beyond. The new format features more games, less fame, in an intimate studio setting, and the live stream will be hosted by Joel McHale and Geoff Keighley.
VGX will be an interactive experience with Twitter as the exclusive social media platform enabling viewers to have a direct impact on the stream by voting on show order and unlocking additional content. Fans will also have unprecedented access to the industry’s top developers and talent.

Today marks the day that CD Projekt RED unveils their first gameplay trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This game is on many people’s radar, and rightly so as it looks fantastic; if The Witcher 2 is anything to go off of, they will continue to push the bounds of the RPG Genre in not only size and scope, but also in sheer graphics fidelity. Sony has announced, that since releasing the Playstation 4 in Europe and Latin America this past weekend, the total number of global PS4 consoles sold has crossed over the 2.1 Million mark. Not only did the PS4 break records after it launched in North America, but has since gone on to become the fastest selling console in the UK after it sold more then 250k Units in 48 hours; for comparison the Xbox One sold in the region of 150k Units in its first 48 hours on sale in the UK.
Andrew House, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment said in a statement:
In what is shaping up to be a historic year for gamers, I’m delighted to share an important new milestone with you. PS4’s North American debut on November 15th was PlayStation’s largest ever, with more than one million gamers picking up a PS4 in just 24 hours. Now, with PS4’s global launch expanding to a total of 32 countries worldwide, including Europe and Latin America, I’m proud to announce that more than 2.1 million PS4s have been sold.
It’s an impressive and record-setting accomplishment for our company and for our industry, and we couldn’t have done it without you. In previous statements to investors, Sony said it hoped to sell 3 Million consoles by the end of 2013, and are hoping to hit the 5 million mark by March 2014.
This is exciting news for Sony and the Playstation brand, and we look forward to the future and what fantastic games it may hold.

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One, which launched today in 13 markets around the world, has officially sold more then 1 Million consoles, thus surpassing the day one sales of the Xbox 360, and setting a new record for Microsoft.
Microsoft has stated that the Xbox One is sold out at most retailers and that they are working on replenishing stock as quickly as possible.
“We are humbled and grateful for the excitement of Xbox fans around the world,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, Xbox. “Seeing thousands of excited fans lined up to get their Xbox One and their love for gaming was truly a special moment for everyone on the Xbox team. We are working hard to create more Xbox One consoles and look forward to fulfilling holiday gift wishes this season.”
So, both the PS4 and Xbox One are off to a fantastic start in this new console generation. Here is hoping that both can continue to get consoles out to fans and keep up with demand around the world. Microsoft has launched in 13 Markets around the world today, ranging from New Zealand all the way through North America and into Europe in the UK and Germany. Sony has launched in North America already, and launches in Europe next week. As this holiday season starts to heat up, I just hope that both these console juggernauts can keep up with, what is quite simply, phenomenal demand from consumers.

Today it was announced that Doom Creator and long time Uber Programmer, John Carmack has Officially left id Software. In an official statement, id’s studio director Tim Willits told IGN:
John Carmack, who has become interested in focusing on things other than game development at id, has resigned from the studio. John’s work on id Tech 5 and the technology for the current development work at id is complete, and his departure will not affect any current projects. We are fortunate to have a brilliant group of programmers at id who worked with John and will carry on id’s tradition of making great games with cutting-edge technology. As colleagues of John for many years, we wish him well
Carmack, who was actually one of the co-founders of id, had recently joined Oculus as the CTO, but had remained at id in some capacity. Now this appears to be the end of that, and we appear to be seeing Carmack going away from games and developing more tech in the Oculus.
We wish him the best at Oculus, and can’t wait to see the exciting things that will be coming from that relationship.

Gamestop announced today, that they have sold out of their initial allotment of Playstation 4’s, and that they are currently sitting on a backlog of 2.3 Million orders waiting to be filled. Gamestop executives said that the initial sales of the PS4 have outsold sales of the PS3 by more then 80% during the same period.
This is looking like fantastic news for Sony, as they already announced that they have sold 1 Million Playstation 4’s in the first 24 hours after release. Now, it appears that the initial hunger from consumers for the console will continue through the Holiday’s, and that will make trying to find a PS4 likely very difficult.
