The sequel to Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords, Galactic Civilizations 3 is going to be a 64-bit PC exclusive, being make by Stardock. Kind if like a Civilization game set in space, Galactic Civilizations are huge, turn-based strategy games. This new one promises to be a huge leap forward, not only in the visual department, but also in the gameplay department as well. With new multiplayer, diplomacy, and many different terrain changes, this is looking to be one very large game.

By going 64-bit only, Stardock states “We want Galactic Civilizations III, and future expansions, to be able to handle extremely large galaxies with a very high resolution graphics and large data sets for the computer AI to make use of. It allows us to design the best game possible without being constrained by the limitations of older hardware.”

It is still very early in development, so no release date has been announced, But Stardock does have a founders program in place that allows you access to the beta, as well as some other perks if you invest 10$ now. You can get more info on the game as well as the founders program from their website.

A very interesting way to look at the used game issue.

The issue of used video games is a big one right now. Everyone is up in arms about it, due to the fact that the new generation of consoles is right around the corner, and they have yet to announce how this is going to work. I came across this video earlier and I thought it brought up some very good points. While I am not sure if I agree with all of it, I think the author pretty much nails it on the head, in explaining why, when it comes to video games, used games are a real issue. Take a look at this video below and feel free to tell me what you think in the comments.
