Today, our friends over at Gamespot, have posted a video showing how to change out the hard drive in the PS4. Sony has made it very easy to swap out to a bigger hard drive or to a faster one, like an SSD, and like the PS3, it does not void the warranty. For the step by step instructions, take a look at the video below.

Seeing how big game installs are going to be on the PS4 and the fact that they are mandatory, will definitely have me upgrading to a much bigger hard drive shortly after launch. What about you guys? upgrading your hard drive in your PS4?

· Chat with your friends; receive notifications, game alerts, and invitations, and then use your mobile device as an on-screen keyboard for your PS4 system.

New Indie Publisher, Renegade Machine Starts Up

So, our friend Tom Ohle from Evolve PR and Khaled Ibrahimi, Cinematic Producer of Killzone 3 and longtime developer, have started a new Indie Publishing Studio called Renegade Machine. They have created this new studio to help indies find success. Using Tom’s knowledge of media and PR and Khaled’s knowledge of development, they intend to be the publisher that can help indies in whatever manor they may need it. As Tom puts it,

Perhaps a better answer is that we want ultimately want to help developers wherever we’re needed. I’ve spent a long time in video game PR/marketing — 12 years and counting — so certainly we’re able to help devs on the promotional side. My cohort Khaled Ibrahimi has spent his career on the other side of the coin — development, that is — and as such we’re able to help with production issues, dev pipelines, managing a virtual team and everything else you need to do to get a game out the door. We’ve also both been around the block enough times to be able to consult on business matters, make connections, help with distribution and so on.

We realize that developers often have a negative image of publishers: they force ideas on you, take too much money or just plain suck. We want to use our experience in working with publishers to build an appealing publishing option for a wide range of indie needs. To that end we’ve pulled together a survey. If you’re an indie dev, we’d really appreciate a few minutes of your time so we can truly understand what you’re looking for in a partner.

Trade in any and I mean ANY PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Wii U game for your choice of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV and Battlefield 4 for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U or PC. I can confirm that this is the real deal as you can see I definitely took advantage of this wicked deal. There is a limit of 1 game of your choice per trade but if you’re lucky like me you can make friends in line ask them to trade for you. (Thanks Jareth’s girlfriend and random dude behind me!) I was in line for about 2 and a half hours and there was still easily 400-500 people waiting in line. An added bonus is that these games are eligible for the Next Gen Upgrade deal where you can get these titles now and upgrade to Next Gen for only $10. Sony has announced that for a limited time, in Canada and the USA, they will be providing special promotional vouchers inside every PS4 box, these vouchers include:

  • $10 Sony Entertainment Network wallet credit for PlayStation Store
  • 30-day free PlayStation Plus membership trial
  • 30-day free Music Unlimited service trial

The Playstation Plus and Music Unlimited trials are for new members only (Sorry existing members) So they will not stack on existing memberships, but you will be able to gift them to a friend. But everyone gets the 10$ wallet credit, which is a nice little bonus, Thanks Sony.

Heroes Of The Storm takes characters from across all the Blizzard games, and places them in a League of Legends, DOTA 2 Style MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) If anyone can possible go up against the behemoth that is LoL and DOTA 2, it would be Blizzard. The five beloved sports from the original Wii Sports game – bowling, tennis, baseball, boxing and golf – are making a dramatic and competitive return on Wii U. Starting today, two of the five sports – tennis and bowling – are now available in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U.

The sports are being released individually as downloads in the Nintendo eShop, and feature HD graphics, enhanced controls via Wii MotionPlus technology, as well as a much-requested online multiplayer versus mode, so users with broadband Internet access can face off against friends and family members online. Players can choose to associate themselves with various state or regional clubs and can send messages to one another via Miiverse. People can play casually against members of their own club, or take on members of rival clubs to increase their club rankings.

Wii U owners who download Wii Sports Club will get a free trial pass that will let them play any available sports for a 24-hour period from when the Wii Sports Club game is started. Once the trial period ends, players can purchase two types of passes exclusively available in the Nintendo eShop: a Day Pass for $1.99 to play all available sports for a 24-hour period, or a Club Pass to gain permanent access to individual sports for $9.99 each.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Sells Over $1 Billion In First Day At Retail

Activision this morning announced, that Call of Duty: Ghosts has sold more then $1 Billion into retail on the first day of release. Since being released yesterday, it has moved into the #1 spot on Xbox Live, according to Microsoft. Activision has also stated that the average play session on Xbox 360 has been longer on Ghosts then either Black Ops II or Modern Warfare 3 during the same time period. They also went on to state that Call of Duty: Ghosts is Gamestop’s Most preordered Next Gen Title, and that Activision saw more then 15,000 midnight launch events around the world for the title. SANTA MONICA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), announced today that the company sold more than $1 billion of Call of Duty®: Ghosts into retail stores worldwide as of day one.

“Call of Duty is by far the largest console franchise of this generation,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. “More people have played Call of Duty this year than ever before, logging four billion hours of gameplay. Millions of people are already playing Call of Duty: Ghosts online. Additionally, Activision confirmed that on the Xbox 360 videogames and entertainment system from Microsoft, average player sessions for Ghosts have been longer than either Black Ops II or Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3, during the same time period.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launched at 15,000 midnight openings around the world. Fans around the world shared their excitement in social media, with Call of Duty-related terms trending an astounding 20 times globally on Twitter in the last 24 hours.

“Ghosts is an amazing game which ushers in the next generation of Call of Duty. The team at Infinity Ward has delivered yet another epic thrill ride in the campaign, and what I think is our best multiplayer game yet,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing. “This is the must have launch title for the next generation of consoles, and we expect Call of Duty: Ghosts to be the most successful launch title for the Xbox One and PS4 by a wide margin. Call of Duty: Ghosts is out now across PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and I even saw it for sale for the PS4 when I was in the store yesterday.
