PS4 To Run Call of Duty: Ghosts In Native 1080p, Xbox One To Be Upscaled From 720p Says Infinity Ward

codg2

Today Via Twitter, Mark Rubin from Infinity Ward, the Studio Behind Call of Duty: Ghosts, has cleared the air about resolutions on the two next gen consoles. According to Rubin, the PS4 will run native 1080p and the Xbox One will be native 720p upscaled to 1080p.

Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4.  We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction.  Can’t wait for next week’s launch.

So there we have it, finally an answer to all the questions that have been swirling around in the media these last few weeks.

Limited Edition Zelda Themed 3DS XL is Coming To North America

Jack_3DSXL_Bundle

Earlier this month Nintendo of Europe announced that they would be releasing a limited edition Zelda themed 3DS XL to celebrate the release of the upcoming 3DS Zelda game. Unfortunately, there was no word on whether this system would be released here and North American gamers were once again left out. Thankfully this morning Nintendo has officially announced plans to release this Zelda Themed 3DS XL bundle in North America. This limited edition bundle will be avalaible Nov. 22 for $219.99, which includes the system and a download code for a copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds game. I checked local retailers as soon as I heard this news and pre-orders weren’t open yet but I’m guessing you’ll probably be able to pre-order soon.

Check out images of this great looking system below and read the press release from Nintendo for more information.

ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD FOR ZELDA FANS

New Gold-and-Black Nintendo 3DS XL Comes with The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 29, 2013 – The Legend of Zelda series has always been associated with the color gold. From the original gold-colored cartridge for The Legend of Zelda on NES to the box art of the recently released The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Wii U, when fans think of “Zelda,” they think of gold. With the launch of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds on Nov. 22, the tradition of gold continues. On the same day, a new Nintendo 3DS XL bundle will launch that includes Nintendo 3DS XL hardware with gorgeous gold-and-black coloring and the iconic Triforce on the exterior, as well as a download code for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. The legendary system is gold on one side and black on the other, beautifully representing the two parallel worlds Link travels between in the game. The special bundle was announced in a video starring The Legend of Zelda franchise producer Eiji Aonuma, and will be available at a suggested retail price of $219.99.

“This beautifully designed Nintendo 3DS XL system continues a tradition that has delighted our fans for decades,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “It’s a special bundle for a very special video game.”

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is set in the same world as fan-favorite The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Super NES and takes place in the same Hyrule after many years have passed. In this new game, Link must journey between two worlds, Hyrule and Lorule, using a mysterious power that lets him become a drawing on walls. Link’s ability to merge with walls allows players to solve puzzles and explore dungeons in a new way. Players are also able to buy or rent various items throughout the game, allowing them to explore dungeons in any order they want, adding a new level of freedom to the game play.

But compared to the previous Xbox One Commercial, this is definitely a step in the right direction. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you guys think.

Hoping For A New X-Wing VS Tie-Fighter Game? Then GoD Factory: Wingmen Is The Game For You

GoD-Factory-Wingmen-Steam-Cover

Lets face it, the chances of us getting a new X-Wing VS Tie-Fighter game is slim to non. But have no fear my friends, as Nine Dots Studio are working on a squad based, competitive, space combat simulator. This is a game where you customize a ship, and then you and your squad go out there, shoot down enemy ships, and attempt to blow up their carrier. Seriously, check out some early footage of that dogfighting action below.

And just to show off how far this talented studio has come, here is the video they were showing off at PAX (along with being able to play the beta) I gotta say, I played a bit of this at PAX myself, and I was highly impressed, the game plays great, it looks fantastic, and really managed to scratch that space combat itch that has been SORELY missing in the gaming landscape of late.

Now if you think that this is something you are interested in playing, I urge you to get over to their Kickstarter HERE, and help them reach their goal. They have less then 48 hours left, and so if you have been yearning for a new X-Wing VS Tie Fighter, get in there and help em out, as this is definitely the closest you are gunna get, at least for now.
