To commemorate this Star Wars day, Disney has announced a new animated TV Star Wars show, called Star Wars Rebels. This will be coming to Disney XD in the fall, no specific date was given as of yet. Take a look at the Trailer below and we managed to snag a couple Screenshots as well.

This morning, on the eve of the season 1 finale, Syfy has announced that they are renewing Helix for a season 2.
The Sci-Fi drama premiered on Jan 10 2014, and blew up the network with its mix of drama, suspense, visceral visuals, and some genuinely great performances from the cast. This all helped to create a show that the fans really connected with, even going as far as to creating a #RenewHelix movement on Twitter and other social networks, in hopes of seeing this show have another season.
The show, which was set in the Arctic, follows a team of scientists and support people from the CDC, sent to a research facility to investigate a mysterious virus outbreak, staring Billy Campbell, Kyra Zagorsky, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Mark Ghanime, turned out to be a huge hit for the SyFy network. The premiere episode opened to over 1.8 million viewers and grew by 65% in L+3 DVR returns to end at over 2.8 million viewers as well as shattering network records for the friday timeslot. Helix then went on to average 2.1 million viewers per episode. Bill McGoldrick, EVP Original Content stated that “Helix has built one of our most loyal and consistent audiences in its first season on Syfy, the incredibly talented writing and producing team have crafted a thriller that consistently delivered suspense, twists and high quality drama.”
I know I have been following the show every week, and it is honestly the best show on television right now, it managed to suck me in and hasn’t let me go. It is a wild ride and I can’t wait to see more of it in the future. I also really hope that they decide to bring back the existing characters from season one, especially fan favorite Sergio Balleseros (played by Mark Ghanime) as I can’t help but feel there is so much more to this character, and it would be fantastic to see him fleshed out in a second season.

I had not heard about this film, coming from the Wachowski’s, until today. But now I can’t remember being more excited for a film coming this summer! Trailer is below, and it looks stunning! Hopefully this makes up for the last 2 Matrix Films.

So in a move that is making the whole Internet go up in flames, Oculus VR announced yesterday that they are being bought by Facebook. In a Deal worth $2 billion, Facebook will be acquiring all of Oculus VR, the deal, while not finalized yet, is expected to be complete in 2Q 2014.
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg had this to say of the deal “Mobile is the platform of today, and now we’re also getting ready for the platforms of tomorrow, Oculus has the chance to create the most social platform ever, and change the way we work, play and communicate.”
Oculus also seemed quite happy about the deal saying “We are excited to work with Mark and the Facebook team to deliver the very best virtual reality platform in the world,” Brendan Iribe, co-founder and CEO of Oculus VR says in a PR release. “We believe virtual reality will be heavily defined by social experiences that connect people in magical, new ways. It is a transformative and disruptive technology, that enables the world to experience the impossible, and it’s only just the beginning.”
The Deal will be a mix of around $400 Million in cash, and the remainder being Facebook shares once the deal is finalized.
Sooo…. It is looking like VR is ramping up in the coming months and I will be very curious how this changes things going forward, not only for Oculus but for the Sony VR platform as well.

Today we get this little nugget of animated goodness, a Sly Cooper teaser trailer for the upcoming animated film. Being created by Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment, this CG animated film will be coming sometime in 2016. Take a gander at the trailer below, and here is hoping they don’t wreck it.
Well there we have it, the first glimpse of a Sly Cooper CG film. I think it is too early to tell yet how this will go, but from what I have seen here, might be a fun ride.
